 On-Line Member Community

Welcome!

Thanks for your interest in joining our on-line member community.  We want this to be a rewarding and user-friendly experience.  Membership is open to all employees of AETA Members in good standing.  Please check the membership list before requesting an invitation.

First, a "formality"

To make this work both legally and socially, we need our participating members to agree to behave themselves. What does that mean?  We've described it below, in plain language.  Please read it. Then, submit your acknowledgement and identity.

Note to Non-AETA Members

The AETA On-Line Community is a members-only groupsite. So AETA membership is a prerequisite for joining. If your organization is not yet an AETA member, we invite you to discover why or simply apply here

User Agreement

The purpose of the AETA Community is to provide an open forum for the posting and discussion of news and information among AETA members.

Participation in the AETA On-line Community is for AETA members, by invitation only. Initially, the primary contact people for retailer or manufacturer/distributor member companies will receive invitations but privileges extend to all employees of the member company and others in the company may request an invitation. In addition, invitations to join will be sent directly to those in all other AETA membership categories but privileges are limited to the individual member.

As with any on-line community, there are guidelines governing behavior. By joining and using AETA’s on-line community, you agree that you have read and will follow the rules and guidelines set for our community. For instance, violating antitrust regulations, libeling others, selling, and marketing, except if using specified services on this site, are not permissible. Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. If you have questions, contact the AETA office (610-444-2025).

AETA reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for members who violate these rules.

  • Do not challenge or attack others. The discussions on the site are meant to stimulate conversation not to create contention. Let others have their say, just as you may.

  • Do not post commercial messages in discussion forums. Instead, contact members directly to discuss your products and services that you believe would help them or utilize the sections of the site dedicated to commerce.

  • Use caution when discussing products. Information posted is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.

  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.

  • Please note carefully all items listed in the disclaimer and legal rules on our web site, particularly regarding the copyright ownership of information posted to the community site.

  • Remember that AETA and other community participants have the right to reproduce postings.

AETA accepts no responsibility for the opinions and information posted on this site by others. AETA disclaims all warranties with regard to information posted on this site, whether posted by AETA or any third party; this disclaimer includes all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness. In no event shall AETA be liable for any special, indirect or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data or profits, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of any information posted on this site.

Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive or illegal materials. In addition, the posting party grants AETA and users of this site the non-exclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print and use such information or other material.

Messages should not be posted if they encourage or facilitate members to arrive at any agreement which either expressly or impliedly leads to price fixing, a boycott of another's business, or other conduct which is intended to illegally restrict free trade – in other words can be interpreted as an anti-trust violation. Messages which encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate: prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale; salaries; profits, profit margins or cost data; market shares, sales territories, or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection or termination of customers or suppliers.

AETA does not actively monitor the site for inappropriate postings, and does not on its own undertake editorial control of postings. However, in the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to the AETA's attention, AETA will take all appropriate action. For the protection of all, members of the Community are encouraged to contact AETA’s management about inappropriate postings.

AETA reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines.
