Volunteer Center

Activate Your Membership …

to get the full benefit of Association membership. We invite current members to participate in one or more of the many projects and initiatives in which AETA is involved and help us to develop new programs. If you have particular interests or skills, we’ll help you find an appropriate match.

Because AETA’s members are so widely dispersed, much of the work is done by telephone and email, conference calls instead of in-person meeting. The association management company provides administrative support (mailings, broadcasts) and advises committees.

A lot of hands are needed to make things happen.   Link to our Volunteer Sign-Up Form

Here is some of what our current committees are doing.

Membership

▪ Plan membership strategy

▪ Develop ideas and research possible membership benefits

▪ Advise the management on the validity of our contact list

▪ Help to recruit new members and involve current members

Communications

▪ Bi-monthly newsletter – help to plan content, gather material, write articles, interview people (AETA’s management will edit, lay out, distribute and write material as needed)

▪ Identify media contacts and opportunities to work with them (or help our members work with them)

▪ Help to compile our “green initiatives” material into a publication for members

▪ Web site – help to gather material and information of value to members

Trade Show

Association volunteers …

▪ identify and invite appropriate exhibitors to participate in Retailers Resource Row

▪ coordinate the ‘Fashion Vignettes”, our fashion show program with mannequins

▪ develop educational programs (speakers, topics)

▪ coordinate the Golden Ticket program

▪ conduct the Green Initiatives program

Our producer, Hopper Expositions, does the really “heavy lifting” of arrangements with the facility, hotel, exhibitors, registration, shipping, décor, etc.

Awards

        ▪ Refine nominations categories and forms

        ▪ Advise on judging (who, how)

Other

AETA has evolving relationships with a variety of other associations and industry groups that we’d like to develop further for mutual benefit.

Thank you for stepping up!
